Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick Part V

It's safe to say I love Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick also, both the formula and the colors released so far. I've only skipped a few here and there, but those I have I truly enjoy. Some are quite bright, yes, but they're still wearable and never tacky. Let's hope these will stick around for a while, because a brand new line of Moisture Rich Lipsticks to be released in the fall does not bode well for the Creamy Glow/Moist :( After all, Suqqu did away with the Bright Ups when these Extra Glows were released.

After much stalking, I was able to get a hold of the constantly sold out 02 秋薔薇 (Akibara) Chic Rose and 08 深紅 (Fukabeni) Crimson Red, and the UK LE 104 艶柘榴 (Tsuyazakuro) Pink and 105 浜橙 (Hamadaidai) Orange.

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

No wonder 02 and 08 are rarely in stock--they're so gorgeous! Woot, I'm swooning!

The two UK LE's are totally different than the rest, which doesn't surprise me. Both are semi-opaque and pigmented. While this whole line of lipsticks isn't sheer by any means, save for the Japanese LE's that are pretty much clear lip balms, these two UK LE's look and feel like entirely different lipsticks altogether.

- 02 秋薔薇 (Akibara) Chic Rose: appears an orange-coral in the swatch photo but is much rosier in real life. I was afraid the semi-translucence would translate to a slight milkiness but the formula adapts pretty quickly to my lips. Very pretty.

- 08 深紅 (Fukabeni) Crimson Red: translucent deep red with brownish undertone. Probably my favorite color in this bunch.

Here are several deep/brown reds I have: Maquillage Dramatic Melting Rouge RD526 Melty Red and RS555 Chic Rose, Paul & Joe Lipstick CS 101 Snuggle Up, Addiction Lipstick Sheer 003 Cherry Cherry, Lunasol Full Glamour Lips 18 Brown Red, and this Extra Glow Lipstick 08 深紅 (Fukabeni) Crimson Red.

Maquillage DMR RD526 Melty Red is a shimmery dupe of 08 深紅 (Fukabeni) Crimson Red, no? So if you can't get a hold of 08, try RD526 instead? ^.^

- 104 艶柘榴 (Tsuyazakuro) Pink: semi-opaque hot pink borderline on fuchsia. No milkiness, thank goodness, though I wouldn't be surprised if it's indeed fuchsia on some folks. My lips are warm enough to counter some of the violet in this color and keeps it pink. Because it's semi-opaque, I only need one layer to achieve full coverage.

Among all my Suqqu lipsticks, there are definitely similar pinks: Bright Up 09 薊映 (Azamibae), Creamy Glow Moist EX-21 千華 (Senka), Extra Glow 10 映華 (Haebana) Blooming Pink and this 104 艶柘榴 (Tsuyazakuro) Pink.

- 105 浜橙 (Hamadaidai) Orange: more like peachy apricot, again semi-opaque. There's a slight milkiness upon application but it disappears pretty quickly.

Similar oranges/apricots: Creamy Glow Moist EX-20 百橙 (Hyakudaidai), Extra Glow 05 冴杏 (Saeanzu) Orange Red, 12 百合橙 (Yuridaidai) Sunny Orange, and this 105 浜橙 (Hamadaidai) Orange.

05 冴杏 (Saeanzu) Orange Red is pretty much the translucent version of this 105 浜橙 (Hamadaidai) Orange.

From left to right: 08 深紅 (Fukabeni) Crimson Red, 104 艶柘榴 (Tsuyazakuro) Pink, and 105 浜橙 (Hamadaidai) Orange.
